Hanne Friis, Circulation

The book CIRCULATION explores the monumental textile sculptures of Norwegian artist Hanne Friis, known for her intricate hand-folding and sewing techniques. Layer upon layer of textile is transformed into compressed, sculptural forms - abstract yet deeply rooted in themes such as human existence, nature and society's overuse of natural resources.

This bilingual edition (Norwegian/English) contains insightful texts by Hanne Friis, art historian Jorunn Veiteberg and curator Guri Skuggen. Photographs by Øystein Thorvaldsen. Edited and designed by Nina Ansten.

Bound in bronze-colored metallic textile and printed on high-quality silk paper, the book reflects the artist's interplay between the monumental and the tactile.
