Kristine Five Melvær is a Norwegian designer working with tableware, lighting, furniture and textile objects. Her design philosophy is based on the communicative potential of objects - how they can create emotional bonds between object and user.
With a free approach to materials and product categories, Melvær often moves beyond the product itself and into art direction and graphic design. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards in both disciplines.
She holds a master's degree in industrial design from the Oslo School of Architecture and Design, as well as a master's degree in visual communication from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts.
