Ida Hagen

Ida Hagen is an Oslo-based hand weaver, artist and designer with a lifelong passion for textiles. She completed her textile education at Capellagården in Sweden in 2022, and her work is characterized by experimentation with color, material, technique and texture.

In her work, she explores the boundaries between art and functional objects, using techniques such as weaving, knitting, spinning, felting and dyeing. As a colorist, she has a deep understanding of the impact of color, which she consciously integrates into all her works. Her work has been exhibited in Norway, Sweden, Italy and South Korea.

During her second year at Capellagården, Ida immersed herself in the traditional weaving technique of half-twist, a simplified overshot weave with floating pattern threads. Through experimentation with colors and materials, she discovered a gradient pattern, an expression that later formed the basis of her Fiber Lines textiles, where color, material and time are woven together in a visual dialogue.
