Sustainable design on your doorstep

Heymat is a family-owned company based in Mo i Rana, Norway, built on many years of experience in the laundry industry. Husband and wife team Sonja Djønne and Thoralf Lian founded the company in 2015 with a desire to combine the quality and innovation of industrial mats with modern Norwegian design. Since then, Heymat has become an important part of homes both in Norway and internationally, with availability in Europe, Asia, USA and Canada. Made from recycled materials, Heymat's new collection of doormats combines aesthetics and environmental awareness. Since 2015, the Norwegian company Heymat has been producing high-quality design mats from the harsh Arctic landscape. "Design can and should be sustainable," says Sonja Djønne, CEO of Heymat. "We have done our utmost to create a doormat that delivers on quality, design and sustainability."

Norwegian design, industrial quality

The Heymat+ series is designed by Kristine Five Melvær, one of Norway's leading designers. Inspired by water, vegetation and zen gardens, the three monochromatic mats offer a beautiful addition to any home. The decorative 3D patterns also ensure a scraping effect that effectively handles dirt and grime. Like all Heymat products, Heymat+ has a non-slip backing of SBR rubber, which is partly made from recycled material. "The mats are not only environmentally friendly because they are recycled, but also because their high quality ensures a long service life," says designer Kristine Five Melvær. "It's up to me to create a design that makes the customer want to use it for many years."

"The sand, water and vegetation-inspired motifs are reminiscent of the calming effect of patterns drawn in soft sand, adding a serene presence at your doorstep."

Design with a conscience

Heymat+ is part of Heymat's strategy to make both production and products as environmentally friendly as possible. The process started in 2017 when the company replaced nylon with PET, a material made from 50% recycled plastic with improved absorbency.
