Among hundreds of weather-beaten islands, amidst the crystal-clear waters of the fjords of Western Norway, lies Fitjar Islands Foundry; a craft workshop for soap and fragrance design.

Shaped by the passage of time and the harsh Nordic climate, the islands are mostly uninhabited and isolated. The vegetation is wild, sparse and poetically beautiful. It's impossible not to be gripped by the power of the wilderness here. The biting cold wind fills the ever-changing landscape with new scents every moment. On a still winter morning, the breeze carries with it the cool freshness of the nearby glacier, mixed with undertones of spruce and juniper bushes that adorn the islands. In spring, the purple heather adds its sweet, gentle notes.

Based on traditional soap making techniques and with exceptional attention to craftsmanship and quality, Fitjar Islands embraces the importance of process in small-scale production. It celebrates the beauty and humor of the small imperfections that arise from an artisanal method.

Everything happens in our workshop at Fitjar, where each batch is made with care and under strict quality controls. Every Fitjar Islands product can be traced back to a real place and a real person, so customers know where the products come from and how they are made.

Fitjar Islands uses only high quality ingredients that are mild and gentle. We always maintain the highest standards of safety and product performance. Our products do not contain SLS/SLES, parabens, mineral oils, artificial colors or synthetic perfumes, and they are ideal for sensitive skin. Most of the range is vegan and absolutely nothing is tested on animals.
