The Oceanweaver is a brand by the textile artist and designer Karina Siegmund. Karina loves experimenting with different techniques within weaving, weaving technology, and materials and she believes the way they are all put together, creates just the right language and mood, that she captures outside, in nature.
This artwork is part of the dialogue with the ocean collection, handwoven fine art collectibles inspired by the sea. Each woven work has its own unique character, its own interpretation of the ocean. Karina has crafted them in a remote studio by the sea, nestled in the coastal shoreline at the most western point westcoast in Norway. Each work is an impression of sea studies, where the ocean´s textures, with its ever changing light and saltwater surface, its beaches and coastal lines are formgiving elements.
