The wool factory in Sjølingstad was built in 1894, and has been designated a national monument to the textile industry in Norway. Today the factory is a living museum, with its own power station, dye house, spinning mill, weaving mill and finishing plant.

Sjølingstad Uldvarefabrik has ongoing collaborations with several clothing designers who are concerned with circular sustainability, reuse and natural materials. They are currently collaborating with HAiK, a Norwegian clothing brand created in 2011 by the designers Siv Støldal, Ida Falck Øien and Harald Lunde Helgese.

The museum offers guided tours of the factory to the public, where they can experience the various machines and production process in action. They also offer wool workshops for children at 2 pm. The museum is generally open for the public tue.-fri. from 11 a.m - 3 p.m.
