Heymat
Heymat brings sustainable design to your doorstep.
Made from recycled materials, Heymat’s new collection of doormats pleases both the eye and the environment. Norwegian company Heymat has been producing high-quality design mats from the rough Arctic since 2015.
“Design could, and should, be sustainable,” says Sonja Djønne, CEO of Heymat. “We have done our utmost to create a doormat that delivers on quality, design and sustainability.”
Norwegian design, industrial quality
The Heymat+ series is created by Kristine Five Melvær, one of Norway’s leading designers. Inspired by water, vegetation and zen gardens, the three monochromatic mats are beautiful additions to any home. The decorative 3D patterns also ensure a scratch effect that efficiently deals with dirt and grime. Like all Heymat’s products, Heymat+ comes with anti-slip backing in SBR rubber, a partially recycled material.
“The mats aren’t just environmentally friendly because they are recycled, but their high quality ensures a long life,” says designer Five Melvær. “It’s up to me to create a design that makes the customer want to use it for the same amount of time.”
“The sand, water, and vegetation-inspired motifs bring to mind the calming effects of designs made in soft sand, and add a tranquil presence to your threshold.

Design with a conscience
Heymat+ is part of a Heymat’s strategy to make the product-ion and products as environmentally friendly as possible. The process started in 2017, when the company replaced nylon with PET, a material with improved absorption capacity made from 50% recycled plastic.
“Our aim is to make mats that are functional, environment-ally friendly and nice to look at. We want you and your home to enjoy your Heymat for years to come – and with a good conscience,” says CEO Sonja Djønne.
