All Pine Press is an Oslo based stationery brand that designs notebooks, calendars and other paper products with the last remaining paper mill in Norway: Hellefoss Paper. All of their products are designed and printed in Oslo.

Their main source of raw material is a paper quality called Super Snow Bright. This is a mechanical printing paper produced at the last remaining paper mill of its kind in Norway, Hellefoss Paper AS in Hokksund. All their products are designed and printed in Oslo. All Pine Press was established in Desember 2015, by graphic designer Marianne Lydersen.

Why did you start All Pine Press?

What started as a self initiated research project, looking into the Norwegian paper industry, lead me to discover that of what was once a booming industry, there is only one factory left, Hellefoss Paper AS in Hokksund. All paper manufactured at this factory is made for export, as the Norwegian printing industry has phased out rotary presses, meaning the paper produced at Hellefoss in not readily available in Norway. This I thought, is a shame!

What keeps you motivated?

To share my love for paper! (And at the same time give some honor and attention to the Norwegian paper industry, an industry that has faced major challenges, but which still plays an important role in many communities. Hellefoss Paper AS is a cornerstone company in Hokksund, where residents have worked at the factory for generations. Our contribution to the factory turnover is not crucial, but it has been a goal for us from the beginning to make the paper from Hokksund available in Norway.)

One thing in particular you would like our customers to know about All Pine Press?

All Pine Press is the only company in Norway offering stationery products made from Norwegian raw materials and manufactured in Norway. We are a small enterprise with big ambitions!

Production, Social responsibility and environmental philosophy.

All Pine Press has emphasized establishing a Norwegian and geographically short value chain, from the timber being cut to the products standing in the store shelves. This ensures good control over both product quality and the environmental aspects of production and logistics.

The factory at Hellefoss has been producing paper since 1898. The factory´s total annual production capacity is about 50,000 tons of printing paper, made from wood pulp. The main raw material is spruce, the majority of which is supplied by local forest owners. In February 2006, Hellefoss Paper AS was certified according to the FSC standard and thus granted the right to market its products as FSC ™ material.

For All Pine Press, it is important to use the resources and professionals available locally. This is the main reasons why we exclusively print and bind our products in Norway. In recent years, major printing companies have had to close down, and publishers almost exclusively print their publications abroad. For All Pine Press, it is meaningful to print our stationary in Oslo, at a traditional printing company in Groruddalen, RK Grafisk.

Local raw materials and local production = short traveled products and good control.
