Beathe Hustoft at her studio in Oslo
Manufactura is a ceramics studio in Oslo founded by Beathe Hustoft. With a background in geology, Beathe has built up her studio practice as a ceramicist since 2008.
Her objects are mostly functional, in the intersection of craft and design. Inspiration often comes from the raw materials themselves and the process of exploration.
Beathe strives to minimize the environmental footprint in her practice. A large portion of her ceramics are produced from up- and recycled clay. She enjoys experimenting with locally sourced materials when possible. Beathe is also part of a group of ceramicists building an experimental multi-fuel, clean-burning wood kiln in Hurum (Mørk Ild).
