Guro Sommer is an indepentent photographer based in Oslo, with roots from Grimstad. With a background from Oslo Fotokunstskole, she has refined her artistic vision over the past 6 years.
With a passion for color, she extracts beauty and emotional depth from everyday elements. Guro's photographs invite the viewer to explore the world through her eyes. She experiments with digital and analog mediums to capture a specific feeling in the objects alongside architectural surroundings.
Guro is best known for her empowering portraits, where she delves deep into the essence of individuals. Her ability to establish a genuine connection with her subjects allows her to create portraits that resonate with authenticity and depth.
Over the past three years, she has been an integral part of Gem Studio in Grünerløkka. She co-founded Gem Studio in 2021, alongside photographer Emma Sukalic and film director Maren Klakegg, marking a new chapter in her career.
