Norwegian manufacturers face significant challenges with regards to sales, shipping, export, and marketing.
Even some of the most renowned designers and manufacturers in Norway struggle to make a living from their work. Professionals and consumers find it difficult to locate Norwegian products and consequently end up buying Danish or Swedish brands.
Norway is lagging behind Sweden and Denmark by 100 billion kroner in terms of sales and export of finished goods, furniture, design, and craftsmanship.

Our strategy focuses on becoming the preferred platform for enhancing global sales and visibility of sustainable Norwegian design. We have ambitious goals of achieving a turnover of 150 million NOK within 5 years. Through our growth, we aim to contribute to job creation both in Norway and the EU, thereby strengthening both the local and international economy.

Novooi is committed to minimizing environmental impact by maintaining a low carbon footprint and minimizing waste. Our products are ordered directly from designers and manufacturers, eliminating excess inventory, waste, and simplifying the supply chain. Manufacturers offer a 'design on demand' concept where products are created as needed or maintain a limited stock of finished goods.
Social sustainability and diversity are core to Novooi's mission. We promote social sustainability by including underrepresented designers and producers in Norwegian design. We foster a diverse corporate culture with employees from various backgrounds to enhance our competitiveness. We highlight local artisans, workshops, and iconic places that celebrate Norwegian culture and values.
Embracing a circular economy and reducing CO2 emissions, we prioritize producers and products that use locally sourced, renewable, recyclable, or biodegradable materials. We aim to eventually require recognized sustainability certifications from third-party certifications that confirm products meet specific sustainability criteria.
Novooi promotes knowledge sharing on sustainability and product design through industry gatherings, seminars, and exhibitions. Our (Re)made exhibition and seminar have been integrated into prestigious events such as the Oslo Architecture Triennale, Oslo Innovation Week, Nordic Circular Hotspot, and Maison & Objet's industry meetings at the French Embassy. Additionally, we have established a valuable partnership with Nr. 17, a forum for interior architects focused on environmental sustainability.
