From November 22–24, 2024, visitors to the Musée d’Orsay’s exclusive Le Fumoir were treated to Et hjem / Chez soi, an exceptional exhibition of Norwegian furniture design curated by Kirsten Visdal. Le Fumoir was transformed into a stunning showcase blending classic and contemporary pieces.
Curator Kirsten Visdal highlighted the contrast between the minimalist beauty of Norwegian design and the grandeur of the iconic museum, emphasizing how the understated elegance of Nordic craftsmanship creates a powerful and unique dialogue in such a remarkable setting.
This thoughtfully curated exhibition provided a glimpse into the essence of Norwegian design, where nature-inspired harmony meets precise craftsmanship, featuring natural fibers, wood, and metals to ensure both durability and beauty.
