Ida Siebke
Ida creates concrete and tactile glass sculptures to understand more of what it means to be human. She also designs handmade glass objects. Glassware carefully crafted locally and sustainably. Unique, nordic, inspired by nature.
Ida Siebke has dreamed about becoming a glassblower since she was three years old. There is nothing she would rather do. Glass is her dream material. It keeps her focused and sharp while allowing her to dream and grow.
Her starting point is always personal. By using her own emotions and psyche, she addresses difficult and taboo issues of being human. She starts to translate the emotions into glass in her studio.
Ida gets her inspiration from her surroundings in the form of nature, travel, encounters and the sensual. After a short time in the glass world, she found a fascination for what was different, experimental and strange. The focus on technology gradually diminished, as Ida began to explore other artistic purposes for the glass.

In her sculptural work, Ida usually starts with herself. experiences and feelings. The theme is most often of an abstracted emotional nature. It starts in something vulnerable and personal, and gradually develops into a more concrete and independent object who can stand on its own.
