FANG

FANG is a design studio founded by Norwegian designer Sigrun Lie and British artist Ato Alexander. Drawing inspiration from soundscapes and material experimentation, FANG creates bold, handmade furniture that merges beauty with comfort.

Working from Sigrun’s family workshop outside Hamar, Norway, FANG blends a heritage of craftsmanship with a deep sensitivity to how people experience and interact with objects. Sigrun’s formal training in Interior Architecture and Furniture Design at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts informs the studio’s meticulous approach to production.

Ato brings a background in music, pioneering intercultural collaborations, and his role as Creative Director of Glass Wall Studios. His practice is rooted in cultural exchange and artistic dialogue, bringing a unique lens to how design resonates across diverse contexts.

Together, their perspectives merge in FANG, where tradition meets experimentation, rooting bold design in material knowledge, cultural dialogue, and artistic expression.
